Let’s be honest with each other here. When it comes to children and birthdays, we all readily admit that the first birthday party is more for us than for our child.

They don’t really understand what the hype about birthdays is until they’re at least four or five years old. (Cake! Ice cream! Presents!) This parent went ahead with their son’s birthday party nonetheless, and while he seemed to enjoy the cake, he probably thought the rest of the event was so boring.

Some parents are proud to report that they raised humble, modest children. This parent, though? Okay, maybe her children aren’t as humble as she might have hoped.

In the foreground, we have the precious daughter smiling as she clutches a picture frame, clearly convinced that she’s the model in the picture. Then in the background, we have her son giving smooches to his reflection in the mirror. To be fair, though, they are pretty adorable kids. If they happen to be proud of their appearance, then more power to them.
