A picnic, movie, or coffee date might be ideal for a first date with a normal American, but not an Alaskan. Alaska’s natives have an old tradition of going fishing for a first date. It might seem pretty awkward and boring, but the opposite is true.
Alaska residents enjoy fishing, and it’s among the things they consider for a first date. As an outdoor activity, we must admit that it’s a well-thought idea that comes in handy, especially in moments when awkward silence creeps in when you’re getting to know someone.
