By now, you are aware that a good percentage of Alaskans have a pilot’s license. The reason for that is Alaska residents heavily depend on air as the most reliable mode of transport. When you compare Alaska to other states, you will realize that its air travel habits are different.
Alaskans land their planes and helicopters almost anywhere. An alien in Alaska would probably suffer a cardiac arrest if they saw a helicopter land on ice. To an Alaskan, though, that’s a regular landing spot.
