Some modes of transport such as flying and dog sledding are viewed as uncommon by the rest of the American citizens, but not by the residents of Alaska. To them, flying is a way of life that eases transport hardships.
That said, it is not uncommon to come across road signs that state that planes have the right of way on roads. Alaska’s extreme weather conditions mean that snow can pose a challenge to flying anytime during winter. For that reason, motorists are required to pave the way for airplanes that land on roads.
