When you hear an Alaskans talking about a breakup, the last thing on their mind is a romantic relationship gone south. Their definition of breakup is the arrival of the spring season.
Unlike other places in the world, the cold region up north does not experience blooming of flowers after the winter season is over. Instead, a common sight is the breaking up of winter ice due to the temperatures warming up. The sight is quite spectacular as well.
