“Necessity is the mother of invention” can best be described by how Alaskans use their credit cards. The extreme weather in the region requires Alaska residents to always have winter equipment wherever they go.
Some have come up with creative ways to replace ice scrapers with credit cards, which serve the same purpose, to scrape ice. Living in remote regions of Alaska made people come up with genius ways of replacing standard tools necessary for survival in the cold area.
