Do Alaskans grow their food? Yes, they do. People might get the impression that Alaska’s climate doesn’t favor agriculture. Well, that’s not true. Alaskans grow their food, and their vegetables are pretty huge.

During summer months, there are 24 hours of sunlight in Alaska, which favors the fast-growing of vegetables. The state has a contest that rewards those who grow the biggest veggies. Recent competitions have witnessed pumpkins and cauliflowers that require three people to carry. Below is a picture of one of the biggest pumpkins ever grown in Alaska.
