Nowadays, a recipe will typically include the weight of a needed ingredient, as well as the amount. For example, if a recipe calls for six tomatoes it will probably also say “six ounces each.” It’s actually really crucial that these items be the right weight!
It would be fair to say that this husband probably doesn’t cook a lot, because when his wife asked him to bring home six potatoes from the store, he basically brought home five. The little potato there can hardly be counted!
