You may have watched The Johnny Cash Show, or you may have heard one of his songs. Either way, there is no denying that Cash was one of the greatest musicians of his time.

While it seems unlikely for him to do so, Johnny Cash actually enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950, and was assigned to West Germany to intercept Soviet morse code transmissions. One interesting point of his service was that he was the first person living in the West to learn of Stalin’s death in 1953.
