While mostly known for his acting career in many major movies, Clint Eastwood also served as the mayor of the Californian city Carmel-by-the-Sea, where he was elected.
However, prior to his successful career, Eastwood was drafted into the army in 1951 during the Korean War. Since he spent most of his time as a military lifeguard, he did not actually see much of the events during the war. He eventually went on with his acting career after his time in the army.
