[post_page_title]Betty White[/post_page_title]
Despite having just begun her career in the television and film industry in 1939, Betty White decided to put all that on hold when the Second World War broke out.

White signed up as a volunteer in the American Women’s Voluntary Services, where she transported military supplies in the state of California. After the war, she continued with her career. While she was initially rejected, since she was not photogenic enough, her career eventually became pretty successful.
