[post_page_title]Mickey Rooney[/post_page_title]
Mickey Rooney was a rather well known actor during the silent film era, having started in a career in the film industry prior to the Second World War. However, he was inducted into the army, where he spent 21 months serving in the Special Service.

There, he performed for and entertained American troops in both America and Europe. While his career initially slumped after he was discharged, he managed to regain the momentum to become one of the greatest actors of the 20th century.
