Some of us who grew up from the 1960s to the 1980s may have watched The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. However, most of us would not have thought of Johnny Carson as someone who has served the army.
Carson enlisted in the United States Navy in 1943 during the Second World War, and served as an ensign later in the war. Carson left the Navy shortly after the war to pursue his interest in entertainment, where he later was met with much success.
