[post_page_title]Kirk Douglas[/post_page_title]
The son of Jewish immigrants from Russia, Kirk Douglas had a pretty rough childhood plagued with poverty. Douglas served in the United States Navy back in 1941 during the Second World War as a communications officer.

After being medically discharged in 1944, Douglas went on to pursue a career in radio and theatre, before eventually seeing success as an actor in the 1950s. He would then go on to become one of the most successful actors in Hollywood.
