Nowadays, we know of various Trap musicians who are into auto tune. But, Cher actually utilized it as way back as 1998 in her song Believe. Cher proposed the electronic vocal effect to erase sound inaccuracies. The song became a major hit.
Afterwards, this music editing style became known as the Cher-effect, and has been used widely amongst record artists. It’s important to emphasize that Cher doesn’t clutch onto auto tune and that she’s a wonderful live performer.
