In one episode, Diana surprises Charles for his birthday with a mesmerizing performance with ballet star Wayne Sleep. After receiving raucous applause, a devastated Diana is accused by Charles of attention-grabbing yet again. The dance performance part is absolutely true. Apparently Diana had secretly rehearsed the bit, which included jazz, ballet, and a kick line, at Kensington Palace.
It made sense – she danced growing up and it was both a passion and an outlet. Unfortunately, it seems like Charles’s reaction was genuine as well, as one royal expert said he thought she was “showing off.”
