[post_page_title]Fact check: Thatcher recieving the salute instead of the Queen after winning the war[/post_page_title]
Throughout her decade-long tenure as prime minister, many have accused Margaret Thatcher of appearing more like a president. The Crown takes that narrative and runs with it, showing Thatcher as not only domineering but also overstepping her boundaries.

For example, one scene shows Thatcher informing the Queen that Britain had won the Falklands War, and then cutting out to attend the victory parade and receive the ceremonial salute usually reserved for the monarch. Now, while the real Thatcher did receive the salute, it was only because the Queen was on a tour of the South Pacific at the time.
