Charles and his aunt Princess Margaret appear to be close several times in season four. In one instance, which we’ll discuss momentarily, Margaret speaks out against Charles’s decision to knowingly enter into a loveless marriage with Diana. In another, the two share a tender moment when Charles comforts Margaret, who’s undergoing a mental health crisis.
Even fictionalized, did these scenes represent a larger truth? Apparently not. Despite being neighbors, the two reportedly didn’t have much to do with one another. If anything, Margaret was on Diana’s side, showing her kindness until the 1992 release of her tell-all.
