According to The Crown, all throughout his courtship and engagement with Diana, Charles never really stopped seeing Camilla Parker Bowles, his ex-girlfriend. This paints Charles and Diana’s entire relationship as a sham – a charade Charles was forced to endure while secretly romancing his true love.
Reality’s a little more complex. According to a royal expert, Charles and Camilla initially rarely saw each other but spoke on the phone often. There’s no evidence to support the claim the two continued their affair – at least not physically – until mid-1986. By that point, however, Diana had already been unfaithful first, with her protection officer Barry Mannakee.
