[post_page_title]Fact check: Prince Philip commanding Charles to marry Diana[/post_page_title]
If Charles was so in love with Camilla and cared nothing for Diana, why did he propose to her? The Crown pushes a very definite answer, suggesting that after Diana’s first visit to Balmoral Charles was summoned by his father to the hanging room, where the hunted wildlife are skinned.

Pretty heavy-handed metaphor, but there Prince Philip is shown basically commanding Charles to propose. This rendezvous more than likely didn’t happen. Instead, Philip wrote Charles urging him to either propose or break up with Diana, as she’d already been hounded by the press. Charles then supposedly misinterpreted that as an ultimatum, and proposed.
