[post_page_title]Fact check: Thatcher being scolded for sitting in Queen Victoria’s chair[/post_page_title]
In general, Prime Minister Thatcher is shown to not be having the grandest of times at Balmoral. Arriving ill-equipped for a weekend in the wild outdoors, all she really wants to do is get some work done. Even when she sits down to do just that, though, she messes things up.

When Princess Margaret happens to see her, she chews her out for sitting in Queen Victoria’s chair. Probably fictional, but funnily enough the real Balmoral Castle does have an armchair formerly belonging to Elizabeth’s great-great-grandmother that no one’s allowed to sit in. Thatcher probably couldn’t have used it anyway, though – Victoria was tiny!
