[post_page_title]Fact check: The Balmoral Test[/post_page_title]
One episode sees Diana and Margaret Thatcher subjected to the “Balmoral Test.” Named after Scotland’s Balmoral Castle, it examines whether outsiders to the Royal Family are worthy of acceptance or not. While Thatcher seems to fail miserably, appearing out-of-place at every turn, Diana’s easygoing charm makes her an overnight sensation.

The Balmoral Test does appear to be genuine, though it’s more of an “unspoken code of conduct” the Family expects guests to obey. And yes, apparently the spirit of Thatcher and Diana’s visits is true-to-life, even if events – like her stag hunt with Philip – were exaggerated or made up.
