We all know that guitars can get pretty expensive. Even normal guitars aren’t all that cheap, so you can only imagine how much rare, vintage guitars can get. But when you’re a movie studio, you can pretty much get whatever you want, no matter the price.
And that’s how a $40,000 Martin guitar found its way onto the set of the Hateful Eight during filming. In one scene, an actor mistook it for a prop and smashed it…costing the studio $40,000 in the process.
