In 2009, an entire 13-story apartment building in China tipped over and fell as one piece to the floor. It’s actually surprising to see how it didn’t completely break into smaller fragments. The general structure looks fine, but the construction couldn’t survive the muddy foundation upon which it was erected.

Each of those apartments was valued at $264 per square foot, meaning the total financial loss for the collapsed block was math we can’t even do.
