You don’t need to go through five years of architecture school to understand that man-made structures are usually there to serve… man. A building or a bridge is not a decorative object, therefore it must be developed in a way that makes it useful and practical.

The Millennium Bridge, in England, was meant to allow man to easily cross the River Thames. The only problem is that engineers didn’t think about the effects that heavy foot traffic would have on the bridge, and it had to be closed, three hours after its opening. Fixing the issue cost an additional $6.6 million.
