This kid clearly thinks highly enough of himself to think he is the best son in the world. His dad, on the other hand, knows that he is actually the best son in the world.
So, when his child text him to ask what it was like to have to the best son in the world, he responded that he should ask his grandfather. Clearly the son was looking for a compliment, but instead he was shut down by his clever father.
