Officers from the emergency services wanted to get things like food and clothing for the family so that Carl wouldn’t have to. They knew that money was tight for the father, and they didn’t want to see the kids suffer because of that.
Moore was beyond grateful when he found out what these people had done, and he praised them for having such kind hearts. His situation was so dire that he apparently hadn’t eaten in a while. So, knowing people were looking out for him meant the absolute world.
