Matt Clayton, who is the founder of the cleaning website which deals with pet-related messes, Pet Hair Patrol, says that ammonia-based cleaners should be avoided at all costs when it comes to cleaning those pet stains on any surfaces in your home.

He explains that because cat urine actually contains ammonia in it, your feline friend may assume the solution is actually another cat’s attempt at marking its territory, and go right for the same spot just after you have spent the time cleaning it.
