Charles Dickens is known as among the greatest English writers and social critics of the Victorian era. He developed some of the best-known literary works in the world such as Oliver Twist, and A Christmas Carol.
Strangely, continuing his performative nature even in his passing, Dickens had stated in his will a very unique manner in which everyone should look and act at his funeral. He forbade wearing black bows, clocks and scarves which he most disdained. He also insisted that there be minimal mourning during the funeral. Hardly a funeral at that point…
