John B. Kelly is best known for being among the most competitive Olympic rowers in history. Having won 3 Olympic golds, a first in the sport, Kelly’s athletic prowess remains legendary to this day despite his death in 1960.
This however, wasn’t the only thing Kelly excelled at; he was also a multi-millionaire who made his money from the construction industry in Philadelphia. Interestingly enough, Kelly had two children, one of which became the princess of Monaco. In Kelly’s will, he requested only that his daughter doesn’t bankrupt Monaco with her extravagant spending habits.
