Fred Baur was an American organic chemist and food technician who was known for developing and patenting the packaging of Pringles. Baur filed the patent for the container of tubular Pringles and the process of packing the uniquely curved, vertically stacked chips.
The packaging of Pringles was Baur’s magnum opus. Baur was so committed to his invention that in his will, he wished to be cremated for his ashes to be kept in a Pringles tin. His family complied with his request.
