Janis Joplin is best known for her rock-blues fusion vocals that made her stand out as among the greatest artists of her generation. The American singer dazzled audiences with her unique and non-conformist musical style. Unfortunately, her various substance abuse issues eventually proved fatal.
This led to an eccentric and emotional personality that went with her until the end, when she insisted 200 of her friends and family receive $2,500 to party with. Joplin’s beneficiaries met in 1970 at her favorite bar, The Lion’s Share, to honor her memory.
