Cutting a dog’s nails can be a really difficult and downright scary task when it comes to trying to groom your dog at home. The reason for this is because dogs actually have fairly big veins that pump blood right up to the edge of their nail. That means that if you cut too closely, you can nick the vein and cause quite a bit of bleeding for your dog. Luckily, a good way to help your dog heal and reduce bleeding is to plug the wound with flour, baking soda or cornstarch.
