If the 90s were the peak decade for scandals involving the Queen’s children, then her daughter Princess Anne was ahead of her time. In 1989, a British paper got hold of letters that the Princess had written to a royal household officer.
The contents were never published and were described as ‘too hot to handle’. The mind boggles. She eventually married the officer, after her divorce from the equally philanderous Mark Phillips, so we suppose they must have found a way to handle it in the end.
