We doubt there’s anybody out there who doesn’t know the plot to Cinderella, so we won’t bother explaining it here, but Billy Porter, who stars in this musical version as Fab G, a genderless fairy godparent, made us curious by saying this is a “classic fairytale for a new generation.”
Camila Cabello plays Cinderella, and Idina Menzel is the stepmother, with James Corden, John Mulaney, Minnie Driver, and Pierce Brosnan in supporting roles. Kay Cannon, who wrote and produced the Pitch Perfect film series, is the director. Release date: July 16, 2021.
