Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad (2021) is theoretically a sequel to the movie Suicide Squad (2016) by David Ayer, but it’s also a stand-alone adventure; Gunn himself said that people who didn’t watch the first film will be “just fine” watching this release.
Margot Robbie and Viola Davis are among the actors brought back from the previous instalment, and they’re joined by Idris Elba, John Cena, Peter Capaldi, and Sylvester Stallone, among others. Release date: August 6, 2021.
