What is this creature? A slinky? One of those pipe cleaners we’re all using to clean out our stainless steel straws? Nope. It’s actually a ferret that’s suffering from baldness. Actually, it’s suffering from something called adrenal disease, which can cause ferrets to lose all of their fur.

A fur-less ferret

It’s relatively common in older ferrets, usually affecting those that are three to seven years old. Unfortunately, this disease is caused by neutering, which stops the ferret from producing certain hormones.
