[post_page_title]These hairless horses of central Asia[/post_page_title]
Surprisingly, this is actually a condition that afflicts only one certain breed of horse, the Akhal-Teke from Turkmenistan. The truly sad condition, called Naked Foal Syndrome, is still a mystery to scientists, and causes not only for foals to be born with no hair, but often to die prematurely. In fact, most frequently do not live past three years of age.

Even worse, since the first recorded case back in 1938, more and more are being documented each year.
