[post_page_title]The bride’s 16 marital ornaments[/post_page_title]
In Indian culture, there is a special tradition reserved for brides only. On their wedding day, they get to wear a set of 16 embellishments on their bodies in celebration of this magical event. These jewelry pieces are referred to as the Solah Shringar.

The two most recognizable pieces a bride is adorned with are the Bindi – which is a single red dot that is worn on the forehead of the bride, and the Nath – that is a big round ring that is worn as a nose piercing. The Solah Shringar is an integral part of Indian wedding celebrations and forms part of the wedding culture’s very essence.
