In ancient India, long peppers were consumed daily as opposed to the pepper grinder or shaker that is found on our tables today. Enter the long pepper with its origins deeply rooted in this country.

We have Columbus to thank for many things, including introducing a wide variety of spices from the Americas. Unfortunately, with so much variety, this saw the long pepper not frequently used anymore. This scant spice is still used in authentic Indian cooking today.
