Many people around the world have a phobia of snakes. This irrational fear is called Ophidiophobia. Indians do not share the same sentiment, and some can even be seen handling poisonous snakes, much to the public’s entertainment.
Don’t be surprised when you find many snakes on your travels to India, as this is an everyday occurrence. If you fear these serpents, it’s perhaps advisable to first check out the regions where they are not that common.
