It’s really at the very beginning that you truly get to realize how obsessed Edward is with Bella. Though, in the first movie, his actions are often portrayed as romantic and such, he pretty much just spends his time stalking Bella.
Think about it, outside of watching her sleep, he watches her when she’s with her friends, while she’s at home, and even while she’s at school. The worst part is the two weren’t even really dating at the point he did all of this.
