Romance novels and the Duggar family never went hand-in-hand. That’s not implying that the children never had an interest in reading them, it’s just that they were never allowed to read them.
Even when they were old enough. Again, it goes back to the conservative beliefs of the Duggar family. Not being raised on the allure of romance novels, the children don’t really seem to care too much about them. Then again, that does make a lot of sense.
