A first date is something a lot of people cherish. Depending on the rules of the house for specific people, chaperones are sometimes required for such instances.
You can probably see where this is going but for the Duggar’s, a first date has to feature another sibling or one of the parents themselves. For obvious reasons when you factor in the beliefs of the family, but this is something that they were stern on during the filming of their TV show.
