If you went to a restaurant and you ordered some crab sticks, what would you expect? Yes, this is somewhat of a rhetorical question, as we’re trying to point out that you’d expect to get some sticks made out of crab. The funny thing is, more often than not, crab sticks are rarely filled with crab meat.
It’s actually whitefish that resemble the meat you’ll find in crab legs. Perhaps they were dubbed crab sticks as it flows much better than whitefish sticks. Then again, that rolls off the tongue pretty well too.
