It’s arguable whether this narrator’s grandmother was right, and seeing the Grim Reaper hovering above someone’s house is actually a gift. It sounds more like a curse, frankly – what if it was the house of a loved one? Well, this story takes things one step further, and asks what if it was everyone’s house?
It seems like the apocalypse might be coming, or else some other kind of doomsday scenario in which everyone’s about to be toast. Imagine the burden of responsibility of knowing that, and not being able to do anything about it.
