This particular trope might be an oldie, but it sure is still a goodie. Cats, and this works just as well with dogs, actually, have a tendency to stare into the middle distance, seemingly at nothing in particular. Is there really nothing there?
This narrator’s feline may have caught sight of something that the rest of us can’t see. It’s quite a disturbing trait, to be honest, and we really wish they stopped doing it. Even if there is something there, we’d rather not know and carry on life ignoring it. How about you?
